Hard time connecting to Principium server

Yeah ok, seems pretty obvious. As I write, I already looked into buying a 2x4g RAM kit. My old macbook has been hurting pretty bad lately. And I don't bother putting 30 euros into a small refresh. Is the processor a critical factor also or should I be fine with 8gigs of RAM anyway ? (2,26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, yes it's crap ahah)
Thanks very much for spending time on my desesperate case ahah !

I mean CPU does matter, what do you have right now? I'm on a i5 750 myself which is kinda old and the pack runs fine, so if yours isn't much older than that you should be fine.
edit: just saw your edit, your laptop is pretty old huh
not sure if it's worth upgrading at that point seeing that it's a Mac, you would be probably better off getting a new PC, if you would be willing to switch to Windows/Linux you could probably build a decent desktop PC for ~$400 -
Yeah it's already pretty much planned but I need to think on it ... Very small portable computer + desktop, or very good 15" laptop. And I'm not ready yet to press the button (knowing my self I need one more semester ahah). The ordinary dilemma of student to worker transition ...
I'm willing to spend 30 euros on RAM if it lets me time to think on it and be a little more confortable. No chance it runs with this chip ?

Ah I gotcha!
It will run with the upgrade, but don't expect great performance. -
I have been expecting nothing from my computer for such a long time ahah, I guess there's pretty much no risk to regret it !
Thanks again guys !
