Heya, my name's Kai! I'm 25 years old, from Canada, and was hoping to get to play the new DW20 pack with people online.
Even though I've been playing Minecraft since I was a kid, this is my first time ever applying to be whitelisted on a server. As such, I obviously haven't had any bans or anything - but also I don't plan on starting anytime soon of course!I don't recall specifically how I got into Minecraft - it's been many years now - but I've always had a love for it. However I can definitely cite playing with mods as a reason I'm in the career I have today (CS - game coding specifically). Somewhat ironically given that, I actually have never done any modding myself, but certainly back in my early days figuring out how to get mods working before these streamlined launchers existed was complex enough to learn a love of code from lol.
My favorite mod is a tough question... Really depends. For starters, I will basically refuse to play any modpack that doesn't have a recipe lookup (e.g. JEI) and a minimap in it. Some sort of gravestone mod too. But those aren't content mods...
For content, well I almost always have Botania in the packs I play lately, but tbh I use that so much that it's starting to fade into mundanity. I tend to like a very specific amount of challenge. For a long time, had you asked me, I would've said that Psi was my favorite mod - because it's versatile, and honestly kinda op in the right hands - but that hasn't updated in a bit... Luckily I recently discovered Hex Casting! As a spiritual sibling to Psi, but with an even more magical bent to its thinly disguised programming language, it's quickly becoming my fave!
Indeed, it's through the DW20 1.18 pack that I found this mod (DW being a MC player I've been watching since the stone age lol). Now I'd love to play around with these vast cosmic powers in a world where I can use them to show off to others =PAs for hobbies - Gaming, obvs, but also board gaming, and TTRPGs like D&D. Also I'm an avid reader, and linguistics fan (despite being regretfully monolingual (yet)). And as mentioned before, I'm a programmer, both in my job and sometimes for hobbies too! Like the dice-rolling Discord bot I made for my (then) uni's TTRPG group to use when it went online for the pandemic. I'm quite proud of that one!
It's a good thing the info page says you prefer longer applications, because I'm quite the chatterbox haha! At the risk of making this too long, I'll leave it there. lmk if you have any follow-up questions though!
